Our story
RowAmerica was launched with a simple goal: bring rowing to the city of Bridgeport. Located on over 2 kilometers of protected water on the Long Island Sound, we are perfectly suited to expanding the sport of rowing to the city of Bridgeport. We offer programs for all skills levels and ages, from middle school learn-to-row programs to competitive high school and adult programs.
RowAmerica Bridgeport is also home to The University of Bridgeport Rowing Team and Fairfield Prep Crew. RowAmerica Bridgeport is committed to supporting and expanding the sport of rowing in the area as we work to become the largest rowing destination in Fairfield County.

Middle School Rowing
6-week intro/3x per week
This program is designed for beginners in grades 6-8. Athletes will learn the basics of the rowing stroke and learn to row on rowing machines and on the water. Most of time will be spent on the water in smaller boats, which provide the best learning experience for new rowers
Practices are 6:00-7:30pm, Monday/Wednesday/Friday
Middle School Intermediate 6-weeks/3x per week
This program is designed for athletes grades 6-8 who have already completed 6-week intro and are looking for more. The majority of time will be spent on the water where rowers will hone their skills and continue to train their fitness.

High School Competitive racing team
Spring Novice racing team
This program is designed for students in their first year of high school and first year rowers. Athletes will develop as rowers and compete against other clubs. The racing team practices 6x a week.
Practices are M-F 3:45-6:15pm, Saturday 7am-9am
Cost: $2000
Spring Varsity racing team
Varsity racing team is for high school athletes who have done one year of novice racing team and are looking to further develop as rowers. The racing team practices 6x a week and train with the ultimate goal of competing at Nationals against the most competitive programs in the country.
Practices are M-F 3:45-6:15pm, Saturday 7am-9am
Cost: $2000
SPring coxswain
This program is for both novice and varsity coxswains. Coxswains in their first year or who are inexperienced will be a part of the Novice racing team while experienced coxswains will be a part of the varsity racing team. Coxswains will get continuous feedback to develop their leadership and coxing skills.
Practices are M-F 3:45-6:15pm, Saturday 87am-9am

Adult and Masters rowing
Adult learn to row
This 6 week, 2x per week program is designed for adults without prior experience. You will learn how to row, spending the majority of time rowing on the water in small boats. Completing this program will help build the skills needed to join the masters racing team.
Practices are Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00-7:30pm
Adult masters rowing and racing
Train with our masters team 6 days per week, on the water March through November and on land December through February. This group focuses on maximizing performance and racing. Learn more about membership options here.
